01 what we do
WHAT WE DO.
A Day at Action Packs Day Camp
Our 4-hour Play & Train sessions are all about letting dogs be dogs—off-leash,
social, and engaged in a structured pack setting.
We don’t use kennels.
Instead, dogs spend their time moving freely as a group, playing, training, and resting together.
Our dog tenders provide gentle guidance to keep the pack balanced and safe.
Throughout the session, we reinforce simple but important behaviors, like SIT/STAY at gates, COME when called, and polite treat-taking around other dogs. Off-leash play is a reward, and we make sure the energy stays positive—no excessive barking, humping, or rough play.
Each session is a mix of free play, structured pack exercises, and rest, so by the time camp is over,
your dog will be happy, fulfilled, and ready to relax.
We also offer a shuttle service for easy drop-off and pick-up.
A fun, natural way for dogs to socialize, learn, and just enjoy being part of the pack.

Daycare Shuttle Policy
The safety and comfort of all dogs and staff are our top priority.
To ensure a calm and stress-free ride, we have a few shuttle guidelines:
-
Dogs must be comfortable riding with other dogs. If a dog shows signs of extreme stress, overstimulation, or territorial behavior in the shuttle, they will not be allowed to ride.
-
Aggressive or reactive behavior is not permitted. If a dog growls, lunges, snaps, or exhibits other aggressive behaviors in the shuttle, they will need alternative transportation.
-
Training & Adjustment: If your dog struggles with the shuttle environment, we’re happy to provide guidance on training and desensitization to help them feel more comfortable.
❌ If your dog is unable to ride in the shuttle, owners will need to arrange drop-off and pick-up.
We appreciate your understanding and are committed to making daycare
a fun, safe, and positive experience for all!

06 about us
ABOUT US.
Hi, I’m Kim Cassidy, and I love dogs.
My passion for dogs began right here at 196 Elgin Road, where my parents transformed a former gravel pit into the beautiful property it is today. Growing up, I had the joy of watching our rescued German Shorthaired Pointer, Sniffer, roam freely, hunt, and enjoy life as a dog should. That experience shaped my love for animals and inspired the work I do today.
For the past 25 years, my husband Tom and I, along with our kids Cameron and Finn, have raised three more GSPs and a Coonhound. Our home has always been filled with wagging tails, muddy paws, and the unconditional love that only dogs can give.
How Action Packs Began
In 2014, I started a small dog-walking business, covering countless neighbourhoods and kilometres with my four-legged clients. As I spent more time with the dogs, I realized many of them needed something more—a safe, enriching space to run, play, and socialize in a natural environment. That dream stayed with me for years, and in September 2021, we finally broke ground on what would become Action Packs.
On March 14, 2022, our vision became a reality, and Action Packs officially opened. Tom’s background in construction was instrumental in building our dream, but his role didn’t stop there. Over the past few years, he has spent 5,000+ hours in the field working hands-on with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. There’s no better teacher than experience, and through this time, he has developed a deep understanding of dog behavior, communication, and pack dynamics.
Our Dedicated Team
At Action Packs, we’re more than just a dog daycare—we’re a team of passionate dog lovers dedicated to creating a safe, structured, and enriching environment for every pup that joins our pack.
Leading the way is Matt Bourgard, whose dedication, patience, and deep understanding of dog behavior help create a calm and well-balanced pack. Alongside Matt, our incredible Dog Tenders, including Jen Paton, work to ensure every dog feels safe, engaged, and part of something special. Their experience, care, and leadership make all the difference in maintaining a happy and well-mannered group.
Our hands-on approach, combined with thousands of hours spent in the field, has given us an unmatched understanding of pack dynamics, behavior, and communication. We believe in leading with confidence, kindness, and consistency—helping each dog build trust, social skills, and confidence in a natural setting.
We’re proud of the incredible team we’ve built and are grateful every day for the love and dedication they bring to Action Packs. When your dog is with us, they’re not just in good hand, they are with people who truly care.
Our Commitment to Training & Care
Education and safety are at the core of everything we do. In October 2021, I completed the Karen Pryor "Puppy Start Right Preschool" training program, equipping us with science-based techniques to set puppies up for success. In January 2023, we launched our five-day boot camp program, designed to help both dogs and their human pack members build confidence, structure, and better communication.

08 FAQS
FAQs.
Is Action Pack’s Day Camp Right for My Dog?
At Action Packs, we pride ourselves on creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment where dogs can build friendships, enjoy activities, and grow in confidence. However, daycare isn’t the right fit for every dog. Some breeds and individual dogs may find the daycare setting overstimulating. That’s why we carefully assess each dog to ensure they will thrive in our pack.
Why Are the Sessions Only 4 Hours?
Our 4-hour sessions are designed to give your dog the perfect mix of play, socialization, and rest—without leading to overstimulation or exhaustion. Longer daycare sessions can sometimes cause dogs to become overtired or cranky, much like young kids after a long day.
In our structured sessions, dogs enjoy engaging activities, supervised play, and downtime to ensure they stay happy, balanced, and fulfilled. This approach also allows us to provide more individualized attention and a high-quality experience for every pup in our care.
By the end of their session, your dog will be both mentally and physically satisfied.
How Do I Enroll My Dog?
Enrolling your dog in Action Packs is easy! Simply fill out the assessment form, schedule a date and time for your dog’s evaluation, and visit us for their assessment. Once approved, you’ll receive a scheduling link so you can start booking sessions. We can’t wait to welcome your pup to the pack!
How Should I Prepare When I Arrive for My Assessment?
When you arrive, please park by the orange pylons on the right side of the driveway. Then, give us a call at
519-619-4473, and one of our team members will come out to meet you and walk you back to the dog park area for the assessment.
As we will be outdoors for most of the evaluation, please dress appropriately for the weather, including sturdy shoes and any necessary outerwear to stay comfortable in different conditions.
What Happens in Bad Weather?
We operate rain, snow, or shine! Our hoop house is equipped with a cozy wood-burning fireplace, providing a warm and comfortable retreat for dogs needing a break from the elements.
Will My Dog Be Supervised at All Times?
Yes! Our experienced team provides constant supervision to ensure a safe and fun environment for all dogs.
Can Puppies Join Action Packs?
Yes! Puppy Packs welcome puppies as young as 12 weeks old, as long as they have received their second round of vaccinations. Early socialization is key to building confidence and essential life skills.
Do I Need to Be Home for Pick-Up or Drop-Off?
Nope! Our trusted drivers can securely hold your key, with no identifiable reference linking it to your address.
How Long Will My Dog Be Away with the Shuttle Service?
The total time your dog is away from home depends on your location and our shuttle schedule. Typically, dogs spend 4 hours at daycare, plus travel time. Shuttle routes vary based on bookings, but we aim to keep travel as efficient as possible.
What If My Dog Doesn’t Get Along with Another Dog?
We carefully group dogs based on energy levels and play styles to ensure a harmonious environment. Since we only accept social dogs, conflicts are rare. However, if an issue does arise, our trained team is always on hand to manage situations quickly and effectively.
Does My Dog Need to Be Well-Trained?
Not at all! Many pet parents choose Action Packs because our structured environment naturally helps with training. Many dogs show improved behavior after attending daycare.
What Happens in an Emergency?
Your dog’s safety is our top priority. In the event of an emergency, we will immediately assess the situation and take appropriate action. This may include administering first aid, contacting you right away, and, if necessary, transporting your dog to the nearest veterinary clinic.
We always have trained staff on-site to handle emergencies and will keep you informed every step of the way.
If you have specific emergency instructions for your pup, PLEASE let us know in advance.
What is a Safe Amount of Time to Feed my Dog Before Coming to Action Packs?
For your dog's comfort and safety, we recommend feeding them at least 2 to 3 hours before their session. This allows enough time for digestion and helps prevent any discomfort or risk of bloating during play.
Every pup is different, so if your dog has specific dietary needs or sensitivities, you may want to adjust the timing based on their individual reaction. If you're unsure, consulting with your vet can help determine the best routine for your dog.
Can I Walk Back to the Dog Park Area When I Pick Up My Dog?
For everyone's safety and to help keep the dogs calm, we ask that you call us at 519-619-4473 before walking back to the dog park area. This ensures a smooth, safe pickup process for both you and your pup.
For your safety, we also ask that you avoid walking in areas that could be slippery, especially in wet or icy conditions. Our insurance coverage requires us to monitor all interactions in the dog park to prevent accidents, ensuring both dogs and visitors stay safe.
Are You Insured?
Yes! Action Packs is fully insured through Co-operators Insurers. Our coverage includes public liability, daycare, custody and control of pets, loss of keys, and home boarding. Additionally, our shuttle service is insured with commercial insurance through Excalibur Insurance.
